Ilkka Tiilikainen gives credit to arrangements

Chairman of the Lahti Ski Games Organizing Committee Ilkka Tiilikainen wishes to thank all the volunteers for the organizing of the Games but at the same time is sorry for the cancellation of Ski Jump events.

-I’m feeling quite sorry for the cancellation of the Ski Jump Competitions, but the Cross Country competitions went very well, says Tiilikainen.

Kuopio replaces cancelled competition

Nordic Tournament competition that was cancelled in Lahti, will be held at Kuopio with following programme.

14.00 team captains´meeting
16.00 training round
17.00 qualification
18.30 World Cup competition, Nordic Tournamentin 1/4 (replaces Lahti)

Tuesday 4.3

17.00 qualification
18.20 World Cup competiton, Nordic Tournamentin 2/4 (normal Kuopio programme)

Winners Interview - Cross country - Men 15 km C

53 000 spectators during the weekend

8 000 people visited Lahti Ski Games on Sunday, totaling 53 000 guests during the whole Games. Lahti Ski Games’ objective was to get 73 000 spectators to visit the games during the weekend. Lahti Ski Games thanks everyone for participating and welcomes all to come again next year.

Bauer: difficult race

Men’s 15km Cross Country winner Jakob Bauer from Czech Republic told that the race was hard due to weather conditions.

- The track was very soft, so it made the race quite difficult.

Bauer’s tactics was to hit hard from the beginning and he succeeded.

- I tried to take maximum speed from the start and it was then easy to ski with a 20 second lead in the third lap.

Bauer took victory in Men´s 15km Cross-country Classic Individual competition

Lukas Bauer

Lukas Bauer (CZE) won Men’s 15 km Cross-country Classic individual competition on Sunday. Bauer’s time was 36.35.0. Rene Sommerfeldt (GER) was second and Sergey Cherepanov (KAZ) was third. Finnish Sami Jauhojärvi took the fourth place. 

Lukas Bauer continues leading the Worl Cup.

40 000 spectators on Saturday

40 000 spectators visited Lahti Ski Games on Saturday. During the day there were 15 000 visitors and in the evening 25 000. On Friday there were 5000 visitors. Lahti Ski Games are expecting 73 000 spectators in total.
