Chairman of the Lahti Ski Games Organizing Committee Ilkka Tiilikainen wishes to thank all the volunteers for the organizing of the Games but at the same time is sorry for the cancellation of Ski Jump events.

-I’m feeling quite sorry for the cancellation of the Ski Jump Competitions, but the Cross Country competitions went very well, says Tiilikainen.

Lahti Ski Games didn’t achieve it’s spectator goal during the weekend, the goal was 73 000 spectators, while 53 000 people visited the games in total.

-Of course the cancellation of Ski Jump competition on Saturday had its affect on the amount of visitors on Sunday, says Tiilikainen.

Tiilikainen doesn’t want to speculate on the affect of this weekend’s Games on the apply process of the World Championship Games of 2013.

-We have to remember that in five of the 15 competitions held this season, the competition has been cancelled. The people who choose the host for the Games in 2013 look at a bigger picture than a single event, states Tiilikainen in the end.
