Decisions made at FIS Calendar Conference in Cavtat-Dubrovnik.
Lahti will host diffenrent diciplines in cross country next year as cross country diciplines are pursuit and relays.
This way Lahti is now able to test new cross country tracks that have been renewed during the past few years.
Programme in Lahti Ski Games 2010:
2 Nordic Combined competitions (individual)
3 Ski Jumping competitions ( individual, team and Youth)
4 cross country competitions ( ladies and men, pursuit and relays)

Lahti Ski Games will be held for the 85th time next year. Competition dates are 5.-7.3.2010.
This time Lahti Ski Games welcomes all new Olympic champions. Lahti will host first World Cup events after Vancouver Olympic Games 12.-28.2.2010.

On Sundays individual Ski Jumping competition Gregor Schlierenzauer took the victory before Simon Ammann and Dimitri Vassilijev. Schlierenzauer jumped 92,5 meters on both rounds totaling 242,0 points. Read More »

Friday’s HS 130 qualification was cancelled on Friday due to wind circumstances and was moved to Saturday morning. Japan’s Noriaki Kasai won the qualification while Norway’s Johan Remen Evensen was second. Adam Malysz from Poland came in third. Read More »

Pirjo Muranen won women’s sprint qualification. Her time was 2.40,55 while second fastest was Slovenian Petra Majdic 2,12 seconds behind Muranen with time 2.42,67. Finland’s Virpi Kuitunen was third and timed 2.43,40.
Semifinals begin at 13.00 HRS.

Nordic Combined Ski jumping will start at 14.30. Trial round starts at 13.30.
In the evening special ski jumping qualification will start at 19.00. Two rounds of training will be completed before the qualification round.

Fireworks is double-celebration
This years fireworks will be brought by Kemppi Ltd and Ilotulitus Ltd. Both companys are celebrating their 60th anniversary this year.Fire works will take place on Saturday evening after HS team competition.
Planetarium for kids
Kids corner also have FIVE STAR -events. Local astronomy association bring movable planetarium to Kid Corner. Inside the planetarium children can see slideshows of Milky Way and different planets. Shows take place every exect hour during Kids Corner opening times.

Snowstorm that crossed southern Finland last week left thick snowcover to Lahti. Cross Country tracks are under preparation and will be opened soon. First part of preparation is sprint tracks that are closest to the stadium area.

Lahti Ski Games 2009 competition programme is ready and confirmed. Exceptionaly competitions start already on Thursday with the provisional round of Nordic Combined (HS130). According to new Nordic Combined rules, the results of the provisional round will take place in the case that ski jumping is not possible on the normal competition day. This rule is in use at every event during season 2008-2009.
