Lahti Ski Games 2018: Sprint preview
Sprint freestyle finals will be competed on Saturday at Lahti ski games 2018.
Clear favorites of the Ladies' competition are fresh sprint Olympic winner Stina Nilsson, the excellent team of Norway with the likes of Heidi Weng and Maikan Caspersen Falla and Finland's own Krista Pärmäkoski.
The winner of the qualification round was Hanna Falk. Second place was claimed by Natalya Neprayeva. Krista Pärmäkoski was comfortably third. One of the living legends of Finland's cross-country scene Aino-Kaisa Saarinen also made it to the finals. She placed 24th in qualification round.
Men's qualification round was won by the great favorite Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. France's Baptiste Gros was second and an excellent sprinter Federico Pellegrino was third. Ristomatti Hakola was fifth, Anssi Pentsinen sixth and Martti Jylhä 19th. Young Finnish cross-country prospect Verneri Suhonen surprised by placing 21st.
The finals start at 14:15 local time.
